Litigation & Trials

Our litigation attorneys regularly represent clients in cases involving physical injuries, timber trespass and the associated real estate disputes, construction defects, civil engineering failures, product liability, and losses from explosions, fires and similar catastrophic events.

Our Litigation Mission: Secure the right resolution for our clients as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

Our Litigation Principles

1. Commitment. Commit to winning each case at trial. Even where people settle their cases long before any trial, we secure the best possible settlements because we demonstrate we have the evidence, the ability and the commitment to win that case at trial.

2. Collaboration. Work closely with our clients to ensure we understand their needs and their objectives. Help them understand the legal process, the applicable law, and how to work through the process to get to a successful resolution. This is teamwork, and all our clients are an integral part of our team.

3. Counseling. Guide our clients through the litigation process. Help them focus on the details they need to understand to be effective participants and to make effective decisions.

4. Choice. Give our clients meaningful choices in how to resolve their cases, whether that be through settlement or trial. Our clients are entitled to choose between the best possible settlement offer and the best possible advocacy at trial.

5. Cost Management. Manage costs by defining objectives as early as possible, and by limiting our litigation plans to those objectives. Work with our clients in building litigation plans and budgets early in the case so we can collectively manage costs from the start.

6. Cornerstone Litigation. Be credible, coherent and compelling and courageous. Those are the cornerstones on which every winning case is built.

You are welcome to call us at (207) 772-6565 if you or your business is facing the prospect of litigation and the possibly of trial. Depending on the complexity of your case, we will spend a half hour to an hour free of charge reviewing your case and explaining how we may help.
